Viceroy Syrah 2022
This is our third release of Viceroy Syrah, originating from fantastic fruit from the Wind River Vineyard in the Southern Adelaide Hills. This remains a very special site to us, with an eclectic mix of terroir and exceptional quality fruit. The 2022 harvest was another beautiful cool growing season in the Adelaide Hills, with gentle ripening conditions and fruit bursting with vibrant acid.
With a shorter ferment and lower ratio of whole bunch, this vintage is a bolder, more fruit forward expression than the previous year of Viceroy, and definitely no less delicious!
Expert handling and minimal sulphites allow the grapes to speak for themselves, retaining plenty of juicy blue and black fruit notes. The tannins are soft, and the acid pure, undercut with minerality characteristic of the Wind River site.
This medium-bodied wine is delicious at cellar temperature or slightly chilled. Drink now or cellar for up to twenty years.
